How do sociocultural, political, and economic conditions affect how children and families grow and develop? By majoring in Human Development and Thriving, you will strengthen your understanding of children's developmental pathways, learn to evaluate the ways in which adverse childhood experiences and environments impact the long‐term outcomes of subsequent generations, and much more. Courses provide a broad and inclusive view of the diverse contexts of development and will equip you to evaluate complex problems from a comprehensive and interdisciplinary view of human behavior.

Description:
The Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development and Thriving focuses on sociocultural, political and economic conditions as the grounds within which children and families grow and develop. Students who graduate with this degree will be prepared to work in jobs involving child care or early childhood education, child welfare, family planning, or early intervention or they may go on to pursue further education in fields such as marriage and family therapy, social work, child life, or education.
