La Sierra University Film & Television students take a series of key courses to designed to make them effective storytellers prepared for a career in the rapidly changing media industry. While technical skills are important, the core of the program is focused on storytelling-developing narratives that are emotionally resonant and culturally impactful. Description:
The reimagined BFA in Film and TV Production is designed for students who are passionate about storytelling and want to learn by doing. The program equips graduates with the skills, experience, and creative vision necessary to succeed in a rapidly evolving media landscape while making a meaningful impact with their work. Students in this redesigned program will also be able to apply for the new M.F.A. in Modern Media Production. It is possible to complete this graduate program with a few summer classes, in only one additional year.
Filmmaking is an art form that thrives on passion and vision. Our programs are designed to guide students through a process of self-discovery, allowing each to explore their unique voice and find stories that resonate with them and the audiences they seek to touch.

Description:
The Modern Media Production title reflects the broad scope of learning experiences provided to each student. Predictably, this includes training in the latest technology used to tell engaging stories. In addition, each student is guided through a thorough search for their own voice and the exploration of new ways to effectively tell meaningful stories.
While the MFA is designed to equip students with a broad skill set, it also provides opportunity for emphasis in such areas as Screenwriting, Producing, Directing, Editing, and Cinematography. Each student will be expected to select at least one emphasis and will have a final project due to receive formal recognition of completing the emphasis.
Career Outlook
The median annual wage for producers and directors was $82,510 in May 2023. The median wage is the wage at which half the workers in an occupation earned more than that amount and half earned less. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $42,040, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $174,540.

Student Learning Outcomes
