There are two ways to apply to La Sierra University depending on your status as an incoming student. You only need to apply once and each application is treated the same, no matter which option you use. Please let us know if you need help to complete your application.

Requirements
You need to submit the following, listed below, in order to determine your eligibility for admission to our university.

- A minimum 2.75 GPA is required to be considered for admission. For applicants with a GPA between 2.40 and 2.75, a review of A-G courses and selective GPA will occur. Please submit the transcript with the information above by the deadline.
- SAT and/or ACT results* (optional)
*If your SAT and/or ACT test results are available, you may still submit results to the Admissions Office, although they are not required for admission. - College transcripts — if you have taken college classes while in high school, they do not need to be submitted for admission. However, in order to transfer courses, you must submit official transcripts to the Admissions Office. Prerequisites cannot be met or waived if your transcripts have not been evaluated by the Records Office. Delayed submission may result in registration delays.
High School Juniors:
If you are a high school junior, applicants may become be eligible for early acceptance when submitting:
- High school transcript showing at least 1st semester grades of junior year with a 3.00 GPA or higher
- SAT and/or ACT results (optional)
Honors Program and Application (Freshmen)
Beginning undergraduate students with 3.75 or higher high school GPAs and specific SAT/ACT scores may be eligible to participate in the Honors Program. Due to limited space, not everyone who applies is accepted; those who are accepted tend to excel in either their GPA, test scores, and extracurricular activities, or have supplied superb letters of recommendation and a letter of intent. If you are a transfer student, you must have a cumulative GPA of 2.00, and at least 12 semester (or 18 quarter) units of transferable college courses completed AFTER graduating from high school to meet the minimum eligibility requirements.
Applicants who have taken college courses while still in high school should apply as First-Time Freshmen. Freshmen are not required to submit college transcripts for admission, they will be needed and evaluated as transferable credits later in the process.

To be considered for transfer admissions eligibility, the following items are needed:
- All college transcripts. This includes transcripts for all colleges/universities, trade schools, or beauty schools ever attended where you received college credit. We will run a report of colleges attended and if you fail to list any schools, your admission will be delayed.
- If you have not completed at least 59 semester (88 quarter units) of transferable college coursework, you will be required to submit an official final high school transcript.
- Students who are admitted with courses in progress are expected to maintain a 2.0 GPA prior to starting classes at La Sierra. Failure to do so will result in them being placed on provisional admissions until their cumulative GPA meets the standard.
Transfer with an ADT

Honors Program and Application (Transfer)Transfer students or students previously enrolled at the University may apply with a 3.7 or higher college GPA. In addition, transfer students or students previously enrolled at the University are required to have two letters of recommendation from faculty members. A transfer student or student previously enrolled at the University may request entry into the program as late as the beginning of their Junior year (with 88 units or less). To apply for a graduate program, you must complete the La Sierra Online Application
Requirements- Vary by major (click on plus sign to see requirements, terms, and deadlines)
- Transcripts- submit all degree granting transcripts (Bachelor's and above)
- GPA - You must meet the minimum requirement for admission to your program. Those who do not meet the requirement may be asked to submit a GRE/GMAT score and additional letters of recommendation.
- Personal Statement- Currently only applicants for the HMS Richards Divinity School are required to submit a personal statement
- Writing Sample/Portfolio- Applicants for the MA English and the MFA in Fine Arts must submit the respective documents to be considered for admission. In addition, PhD Leadership students must submit Evidence of Writing and a current CV.
- Interview- Please refer to the chart if an interview is required, an enrollment counselor or advisor will reach out to you when it is time.

- Submit English Proficiency scores if coming from a non-US school or non English-Speaking country (unless applying for ESL program)
- Recommendation forms are only required for select graduate programs
- Department interviews/auditions are only required for select graduate programs and the music certificate program

- Submit your Diploma as proof of completion in lieu of a transcript. Scores can be ordered through the GED Testing Service
- GED students are not eligible for consideration for any merit based scholarships.
If you earned a Home school diploma, complete the application of your choice below and enter Need Hs Compl/Homeschool as your institution on the application.

Students who wish to enroll in the Evening Adult Degree Program must:
- Complete the La Sierra Online Application
- Submit official high school transcripts (not required for students who have been awarded an Associate's degree from an accredited institution, or who transfer more than 59 semester (88 quarter) units of transferable college credit).
- Submit official college transcripts (this includes transcripts for all colleges/universities, trade schools, or beauty schools ever attended where you received college credit.

Eligibility
In order to be eligible to apply for the EADP program, students must meet all of the following criteria
- Must be 22 years or older
- Have completed at least 30 semester (44 quarter) units of transferable college credit
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0

Students from all cultures are welcome to apply to La Sierra University. This one-year language program helps students learn to read, write, and speak in English as a beginner, as well as for more advanced levels. Students are encouraged to apply to the ESL program for Fall or Winter courses. International students who were accepted to our English as a Second Language Program (ESL) are not required to present TOEFL or IELTS scores prior to acceptance.

- After admission work with international student services to obtain their I-20 and other requirements.
To apply to the Music Performers Certificate program, students must apply through the La Sierra Online Application.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree is strongly recommended but not required for admission.
- An audition is required, please complete the following supplemental application to connect with the department.
- Local students are expected to audition in person, others may submit a good quality video recording. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions.
